Jan. 14th(12 weeks)

Things are moving along smoothly. I have still been feeling great for the most part, which is such a blessing. I have only vomited 3 times and my nausea comes and goes. I am almost done with my first trimester and today we went to the doctor and heard the heartbeat. It was averaging 158 beats per minute, which is perfect. It was the coolest sound ever. I didn't want Emily, the nurse to take the monitor off of my belly. Despite my increased appetite I haven't gained any weight yet, thank goodness. My doctor has said to exercise as much as I want since I am so active anyways so hopefully that will help. We already ordered the baby furniture and I think it will be in at the end of Jan. Jed was able to wheel and deal with the owner at the furniture store so we got a bit of a discount. We decided to spend a little extra and got convertible furniture, hopefully it will hold up nicely. It is beautiful, I can't wait to put pics up so everyone can see it!

Our First Ultrasound

These are two of our 1st ultrasound pics. They were done at 8weeks 2days. We got to hear the heartbeat that day which was amazing, thankfully it was loud and strong at about 170 beats a minute, which is medically right on target.

The Big Surprise in Knoxville!!

I have to admit that we knew we were pregnant for awhile before we told anyone. I can not tell you how hard it was to keep this great surprise a secret for almost a whole month. On Dec. 20 we took a trip to Knoxville to tell my parents and sister the news. It was quite possibly one of the best surprises, it was so fun telling them. Jed and I purchased Christmas ornaments of a pregnant couple and had our names put on it. They put the due date of our little one on the womens prego belly(7/09). We had my mom and dad open it, and Mel(my sis) had her own ornament to open at the same time. They caught on fast and the tears of joy filled the room. I was jumping up and down screaming goofy stuff and dishing out the details while they took it all in!! We had our first ultrasound Dec 13th so we took the DVD and they got to see it and hear the strong heartbeat of our little bellybean. We also gave them an ultrasound pic so they could show it to everyone!

Christmas Eve with Jed's Family!!

We had originally planned on telling Connie, Joe, Jacob, Jenn and Lou Ellen on Christmas Day but the excitement got the better of us. On Christmas Eve we had alot of Jed's family(uncles, aunts, cousins) over for dinner. Jacob and Jenn were with Jenn's family the majority of the night but did make it over at about 9ish. Sherree, Barry and Lucas and Phillip and Brae were still at the house and I was so glad they were a part of the surprise. For those of you who don't know Jed's family-they are really fun(except for a couple of them being Alabama fans!ha ha) We gave them the same ornament that we gave my parents and when they caught on they were so excited. Our baby will be Connie and Joe's second grandchild. Lou Ellen(our niece, Jake and Jenn's first born) will be about 15months old when our baby is born so they will be good friends and playmates. So finally telling everybody was great, I hated feeling like I was hiding something but it was worth waiting for such a great Christmas present.
